Aberdeen Exhibition & Conference Centre
Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) is home to the GE Oil & Gas Arena, established in 1985 and located a 15-minute drive from the city centre. As the North of Scotland’s largest conference, arena and exhibition centre, the venue hosts around 350 events per year. Our range of events varies, from large exhibitions and conferences, live entertainment, small to large meetings and banqueting events.
The multi-purpose space can host conferences of up to 2000, banqueting events up to 1,400, an arena capacity of 4,765 all seated to 8,500 all standing and indoor exhibition space of 8,800m2 and external of a maximum of 38,000m2.
In 2019 a new state-of-the-art venue will open at a new location in the city offering greater capacities at a location with improved transport links and within a short drive from Aberdeen International Airport and the city centre.
The new venue has been designed to provide the city of Aberdeen and visitors with a range of flexible spaces comprising a multi-purpose space that provides flexibility to host a diverse range of events.
The new venue’s space consists of 47,000m2 of internal event space, made up of 32,000m2 of subterranean space, a 6,000m2 hall divisible into three 2,000m2 spaces and a 9,000m2 arena.
The arena has public access on three sides and has been designed to ensure good visibility of the stage, providing an all-standing capacity of 12,500. There are 20 hospitality boxes around the perimeter of the arena on the first floor and fixed seating on the second floor. The arena is fitted with a moveable stage, 20m clear height and club lounge.
Integrated with the design of the new venue is a 200 bedroom Hilton Hotel connecting direct to the venue on the ground and concourse level and further to this will be another two hotels providing an additional 300 bedrooms on-site.
