Training Consultant – 12 months Fixed Term

Reports to:    HR Manager

Key duties and accountabilities:

  • Draft company induction/on boarding material
  • Conduct skills gap analyses
  • Map out long-term training plans for internal teams
  • Select educational methods, like on-the-job coaching, conferences, workshops and e-learning courses
  • Oversee the training in all key areas of the business
  • Research new training materials and supplies that might enhance our training procedures and provide value to our employees
  • Communicate with team members, trainers and management to ensure all needs are met
  • Schedule regular soft-skills development and management training
  • Assess the impact of training on employee performance
  • Liaise with external partners and outsource training, as needed
  • Gather feedback from trainees and trainers after each session
  • Prepare cost reports for each learning program
  • Update curriculum database and training records
  • Drawing an overall or individualised training and development plan
  • Deploying a wide variety of training methods
  • Manage training budget
  • Resolve any specific problems and tailor training programs as necessary
  • Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practice

Person specification:

Knowledge and qualifications:

  • Knowledge of traditional and modern job training methods and techniques
  • Understanding of Talent Management and succession planning
  • Excellent communication skills
  • BSc in Education, Human Resources Management or relevant field


  • Solid organisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple training events at the same time
  • Excellent team-building, organisation and leadership skills


  • Proven work experience as a Training Consultant
  • Hands-on experience organising corporate training events
  • Experience with various training methods, including e-learning and coaching, and be able to keep trainees engaged with interactive sessions
