Our global network of industry experts has provided SMG Europe with a unique perspective on what makes a venue truly successful – the collaboration of operational effectiveness and great design. Working with owners, developers, and architects, SMG provides the custom solutions which ensure a venue meets the needs of all its stakeholders.
SMG Europe will work with the selected market feasibility consultant and other members of the project team to develop a phased, long-term master plan for the venue based upon market considerations and industry trends.
SMG's core strength is in its venue & event marketing expertise. Global experience in the development of successful marketing strategies will be enhanced by local expertise to effectively market the venue from events to sponsorship, naming rights and advertising.
Design, Planning and Programming Services
SMG will work directly with project architects, consultants, contractors, and other vendors to achieve an aesthetically pleasing and operationally efficient facility. We will identify concerns and issues regarding the facility's program and its design and construction. SMG is prepared to perform all the necessary tasks, as appropriate, given the timing/status of the project.
Operating Budget Preparation and Audit
SMG will consult with the project finance consultants on development and/or audit of operating budgets and cash flow forecasts based on market and facility characteristics and our extensive database. This involves reviewing/forecasting all event projections including attendance, rental & ticketing revenues, food & beverage projections, commercial rights and other revenue source assumptions, all staffing assumptions, and indirect and start-up expense assumptions.
Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment Services
SMG will implement a process for completing FF&E, and if requested, the food and beverage, requirements of the facility.
Operating Supply Inventory
Before the building opens its doors for the Grand Opening, SMG will recommend the necessary initial operating supply inventory. We will examine the level, amount and types of events that will be held in the facility, and will use our knowledge and contacts with industry suppliers to purchase the needed amounts of small wares and disposables. This will be an integral part of SMG's management and pre-opening services.
Commissioning and Venue Handover
Once the new facility is substantially completed, SMG will work with the Owner's construction management team to inspect the facility for adherence to program and specifications, as well as any damage that may have occurred. This document, referred to as a punch list, will be instrumental in the final phase of construction and final acceptance. SMG will work with the construction management team to monitor completion of these items to the Owner's satisfaction and to ensure that the new facility will be accepted in top condition.
