HOURS:   37.5 hours per week

The world’s leading operator of sports, entertainment, exhibition and conference venues is seeking a smart, enthusiastic and experienced Head of Commercial Partnerships to join their expanding team.
In the UK, SMG manages some of the UK’s largest and most high profile venues, hosting world class entertainment, international sporting events and a wide variety of conferences, exhibitions and live events. Add to that, SMG bringing to market a pipeline of exciting new venues over the coming years, creating significant opportunities for new commercial partnerships across the group. 

Key accountabilities:
• Oversee the valuation, asset creation and sales process for all new sponsorship and naming rights deals across the group
• Develop best in class sales materials for a series of new naming rights and sponsorship opportunities
• Identify synergetic categories and brands to proactively target for commercial partnership
• Support SMG’s leadership team in creating long term strategy to maximise value from commercial rights and brand partners
• Lead all proactive sales approaches with prospective partners
• Lead negotiations to secure long term partnerships which add value to both SMG and their partners
• Support account management process with each venue’s partners
• Support a number of key account renewals processes
• Evaluate and analyse commercial partnerships to provide opportunities for added value with existing partners
• Keep up to date with the market to ensure our venues and partnerships remain innovative
• Perform other duties as reasonably requested in the context of the role

• Minimum 5 years’ experience of marketing and sales, within entertainment, leisure, sports or venues would be an advantage
• Proven sponsorship sales track record with ability to demonstrate an effective sales process for securing new partnerships
• Experience in leading contract negotiations with major brands
• Experience of working with brand partnerships in fixed venues or on major events
• Experience of implementing effective brand partnership and marketing strategies

• Ambitious, self-motivated, tenacious and able to pursue objectives until they are achieved
• Lateral thinker, dynamic in approach, with the drive and enthusiasm to focus on new ideas and push through to implementation
• A natural flair for developing strong relationships within the industry
• Positive, enthusiastic and focused on both team and individual objective
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Informed interest in music, sports and events
• Sets high standards of professionalism and operates with integrity
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with effective prioritisation of objectives
• Ability to use Microsoft Office effectively, to provide reports, presentations, data and analysis
• Strong presentation skills

This role would suit an experienced commercial sales manager from within an existing sports and entertainment business, or someone looking to move from an established sponsorship agency role to go client-side.
