The first direct arena is looking for individuals to work on a casual basis within the Operations Department offering venue support to some of largest touring productions in the world. The role involves ensuring a high standard of service is maintained and providing a safe environment for all clients and visitors to the Arena.

The Role:

Main Duties include:
• Assisting the Senior Events Technician and Events Managers in preparations for all public events including concerts, exhibitions and dinners.
• Building our venue stage system to specific event requirements
• Installing our crowd control barriers, Heras fencing and Queue Barrier Systems
• Operating and installing our house drape systems to create different venue configurations for a portfolio of events
• Setting the floor seating configurations
• Working on the changeovers between each event (sometimes overnight) to configure the venue for the client’s needs.
• Communicating and providing assistance to other departments and the touring production with their operational requirements within the Arena

Full on the job training will be given on the above however a willingness to work hard in a demanding environment is essential.

Skills & Competencies:

Essential:
• Ability to communicate with colleagues and visitors on all levels
• Be physically capable due to the nature of the works involved, manual handling tasks are forefront in this role
• Prove a willingness to learn and pick up new skills in a fast pace environment
• Follow health and safety legislation and requirements as set out by the arena
• Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a small sociable team
• Be able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines

Desired:
• Previous experience with an event crew
• Counterbalance Fork Lift and/or IPAF training
• Previous experience of the live event industry

Candidates must be able to demonstrate a flexible approach to work requirements. Working hours will include evenings, weekends, public holidays and overnight as required by the Arena’s events schedule.

Rate of pay: In line with National Minimum/National Working Wage. In addition you will also accrue holiday pay.
