Mike's role as Facilities Services Director draws on his extensive experience of commercial buildings management for some of the most well-known venues in the north west, including Urbis.
Heading up the operational teams of both The Bridgewater Hall and the Manchester Evening News Arena has given Mike an instinctive understanding of public buildings. Additionally his work with the development team for the Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games stadium, and as Senior Technical Manager for Sportcity, has demonstrated an ability to multi task and maintain the high standards required by the most demanding clients.
A background in the commercial/industrial construction industry, specialising in electrical design and installation, led to a position with Granada TV in 1982. Initially involved in the network launch of Channel 4, Mike then assisted with the development and implementation of new technology for broadcast, including digital graphics facilities and computer network development at Manchester, Liverpool and London.
The progression to Building Services Coordinator at the Manchester Evening News Arena, and then through SMG Europe to become Facilities Services Director, is testament to his drive and commitment to providing a quality service to all clients regardless of size and situation.
