JOB TITLE: Duty Manager (Bars & Catering) x 3 (Full Time)
LOCATION: The Bridgewater Hall, Manchester
SALARY: £16,000 per annum
REPORTING TO: Food and Beverage Manager
THE ROLE: To assist the Food and Beverage Manager in the provision of a safe, effective, courteous and efficient operation and delivery of all aspects of quality catering services to meet customer needs, and supporting the delivery of the business plan and financial targets.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Assist the Food and Beverage Manger in the successful delivery of all events.
- Promote and contribute to the development and enhancement of the service
- Advise both internal and external customers on menu style and wine options, plan menus to meet customer requirements and ensure that budget targets are met
- Supervise and motivate the team, including planning daily rotas, training and development, recruiting, managing attendance and completing payroll returns
- Ensure compliance with all food hygiene legislation and at all times staff comply with all health and safety regulations, report and/or refer when appropriate
- Make sound commercial decisions regarding restaurant and bar opening and closing times and staffing levels
- As PLH, ensure strict adherence to licensing laws and regulations, and act as the Designated Premises Supervisor should this be required
- Ensure highest level of standards on quality and service are maintained at all times
- Liaise with the Kitchen department to continually evolve the offering
- Assist in the preparation of financial budgets and work to strict financial targets
- Assist in the accurate and timely completion of all company processes and financial reporting.
- Manage and maintain effective and professional business relationships both internal and external
- Ensure adherence to company policy on cash handling procedures
- Any other duties as assigned by the Food and Beverage Manager
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
- Operated at supervisory level in a high standard catering facility
- Proven experience of menu planning and costing within a large scale environment
- Literacy and numeric skills to accurately produce and analyse statistical and financial information
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven Effective leadership skills
- Thorough understanding of relevant legislation, food hygiene and health and safety regulations
